The Dulles policy toward Israel ### Arab states came under sharp attack here last night by Menahem Beigin### Herut Party leader, at a banquet given in his honor by the South African### Party.

Mr. Beigin scored Israel’s Cabinet members for “giving Dulles an### to tell Washington that they approved his policy toward the Middle East. ### charged that the Secretary of State wanted to re-arm the Arabs on the p### that it was necessary as a move against Communism. He said this was### “reason” but an “excuse” and compared it with Britain’s closing the doo### Mandated Palestine to Jewish immigration, using Nazism as an excuse.

To illustrate what he considered the American estimate of the Arab### worth in possible military action against the Soviet Union, the rightwing### leader reported: “I recently discussed the position with an American dip### saying that ‘surely you know the Arab armies could not stand up against ### Communists for three days###’ He replied: ‘You are mistaken. Our milit### attaches tell us they won’t resist three hours.’ “
