A resolution opposing the introduction of compulsory service for women in Israel–whether military or civil–was adopted here today at a convention of the Union of Orthodox Rabbis of the United States and Canada.
The convention also adopted a resolution opposing any merger of the different Israeli school systems into one and protesting against the limitations introduced in the United States for fund-raising for Orthodox institutions of learning in Israel. The delegates discussed way and mean of increasing Orthodox Jewish education in America and Canada.
