U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright scheduled separate meetings for Sunday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat. In a news conference before leaving for Europe and the Middle East, Albright dismissed Arafat’s rejection of a U.S. peace plan that would link further Israeli redeployments to Palestinian actions to combat terror, saying he should “maintain some flexibility.”
