U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the Americans expect the Israelis to increase the amount of land they are willing to cede in a further redeployment from the West Bank. Albright said she expected Israel to come forward with the “swifter, more credible” proposal by Dec. 17, when she is expected to meet Netanyahu again in Europe.
