The State Department is studying a Syrian protest against Israel reclamation work in the Huleh region, a Department spokesman said today. He described the matter as “under study and advisement.” Official delivery of the protest was made by the Syrian Foreign Ministry to the U. S. Embassy at Damascus, the State Department spokesman said.
The Arab League governments will seek to block Israel from carrying out plans the Arabs purport Israel has made to sell industrial and agricultural products received by the Jewish State as reparations from West Germany.
“It has been learned in Syrian political circles that Israel will try to sell in Arab and other markets the industrial and agricultural products which it will receive as reparations from West Germany,” the report said. “For this reason, some circles in Arab countries have begun contacts in order to lay down a coordinated plan to foil any attempt by Israel to dispose of German goods in Arab markets.”
