U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney saluted Israel at a Washington celebration for Israel’s Independence Day. “Terrorists are trying to destroy good will, to spread fear and hatred, and to smother any hope on any side of a peaceful settlement,” Cheney said at the Israeli Embassy.
