The outlook for reunification of General Zionist groups in Israel is now brighter than at any time since the split took place a year ago, Dr. Israel Goldstein reported last night at a meeting of the executive committee of the American section of the World Confederation of General Zionists, of which he is chairman.
Dr. Goldstein emphasized that the General Zionist party and the Progressive party in Israel are already working in close cooperation in the field of education and in the General Zionist Constructive Fund. “While the General Zionist party is ready for unification without delay, the Progressive party believes that the sounder method would be to utilize an interim period for cultivating common areas of cooperation with a view toward unification,” he reported.
It was also reported that an agreement has been reached in Israel with the Jewish National Fund whereby additional colonization opportunities will be made available to American General Zionists with funds raised by them for the J.N.F.
