A delegation of the United Jewish Appeal is taking inventory of the needs of Rumanian Jewry and exploring Jewish life in this country. The group, the third UJA mission to visit Rumania in recent years, is the guest of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Rumania. The members are visiting schools, synagogues and various institutions and have had audiences with Chief Rabbi Moses Rosen, Patriarch Justinian, head of the Rumanian Orthodox Church, and Prof. Dumitru Dogaru, head of the Department of Cults.
Another Western visitor here is Samuel Haber, executive vice president of the Joint Distribution Committee, who is meeting with Rabbi Rosen in connection with JDC activities in Rumania during 1970.
