The 1972 campaign of the Los Angeles United Jewish Welfare Fund/Israel Emergency Fund entered its final stages of public solicitation still ahead of the record-breaking 1971 drive, it was reported by general chairman Chester Firestein. The figure reached, as of April 30, is $14.5 million, representing an increase of approximately 32 percent over the amount given by the same contributors last year.
