The Jews in Soviet Russia are no longer anxious to settle in collective farms in the Ukraine, it was established today by the Ozet, the Soviet organization to settle Jews on land.
Improved conditions in the Jewish townships, coupled with the opportunities for young Jews to enter factories, have led to a situation where only fifty per cent of the quota for Jews to be settled this Summer in the collective colonies in Ukraine has been filled, the Ozet announces today.
The Ozet has applied to the Soviet government for funds to purchase cattle and inventory necessary for adjusting the new Jewish settlers in Ukrainian colonies, in order to stimulate a larger migration of Jews from the townships into the colonies.
