The Ukrainian secret police have assembled some twenty rabbis with a demand that they sign a declaration similar to the one issued some weeks ago by the Minsk rabbis, according to an unconfirmed report received here. The report says that Rabbi Matlson of Kiev and Rabbi Grinfres of Poltava are opposed to signing the declaration while Rabbis Levy, Rosman and Shneurson of Yekaterinoslav are ready to sign. Negotiations are still under way and the secret police call on the rabbis every so often with a new text of the declaration.
