The Security Council will meet tomorrow to extend the mandate of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) which expires tomorrow. Brian Urquhart, Undersecretary General for Special Political Affairs of the UN, said today that he expects the Security Council to extend the UNIFIL mandate for a period of six months. He said Israel and Lebanon have consented to this extension.
