Piet Nak, a well-known member of the Dutch anti-Nazi resistance movement of World War II, returned an Israeli medal to Ambassador Shimshon Arad today to protest the condition of “100,000 Palestine refugees still living in camps under Israeli occupation.” The former resistance fighter, a non-Jew, had been awarded the medal by Yad Vashem, the memorial institute for Nazi victims.
