Unearth Wall of Solomonic Period

A portion of an ancient wall, believed to be a part of a Jerusalem city wall dating back to the time of Solomon, was unearthed by the Palestine Exploration Fund in its excavations in the vicinity of Mount Ophel. It is certain that the wall dates back to the time of the Hebrew monarchy.

The archaeologists have also discovered that the continuation of a Byzantine street running to the pool of Siloah. Houses with mosaic floors were also found.

The contract for the new Jewish community center and synagogue in Morristown, N. J. was let on a bid of approximately $100,000.

The building which has been used for many years as a synagogue and Hebrew school is being demolished so that actual construction of the new center may be begun immediately.
