Unidentified planes today circled the Jewish settlement of Ayelet Hasahar, in the Lake Huleh region of Galilee, according to an Israeli communique, which also revealed that two Israeli soldiers were killed by Arab Legionnaires while being escorted back to their own lines which they had crossed.
The killings occurred near Baqa el Gharbieh, south of the now lines and in full view of Israeli troops. According to the communique, the responsible Legionnaires escaped to the hills. An Israeli protest had been lodged with the Arab Legion, and permission for the Arabs to cross the lines for the harvesting has been suspended until an explanation is forthcoming from the Amman Government and the guilty punished.
