War-time problems of Jewish religious life were discussed here yesterday at an all-day session of the executive board of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations.
The board discussed the problem of providing Jewish chaplains for the armed forces and securing replacements for congregations whose rabbis have gone into the army or navy. The question of rabbinical pensions and the 38th Council of the Union, which is scheduled to be held in Toronto next February, were also discussed.
