Chicago, Philadelphia and Detroit are rivals for the next convention, it was evident in the lobby during the discussion by the delegates. The decision will be made on Friday with the election of directors and officers.

The business sessions were opened Monday at ten o’clock with an address of welcome by Samuel Dinkelspiel, chairman of the San Francisco convention committee. Mayor James Ralph, Jr., welcomed the delegates. Following Mr. Vogelstein’s annual report, committees were appointed, which sat in session Monday afternoon. A telegram was received by Mr. Vogelstein signed by Ben Altheimer, Louis Marshall, Irving Lehman, Felix M. Warburg, Lee K. Frankel and Henry M. Toch. It read: “We greet you and the members of the council hoping and wishing that you may realize the sacred purposes for which your meeting was called.”
