The executive board of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations, at its meeting yesterday, unanimously approved all resolutions adopted by the American Jewish Conference, except the resolution which demands the establishment of a Jewish Commonwealth in Palestine. The board decided that the Palestine resolution be submitted to the Council, which is the supreme governing body of the Union. Meanwhile, the Union continues to participate in the American Jewish Conference.
Rabbi Maurice N. Eisendrath of Toronto, Canada, who has been serving as acting executive director, was elected executive director of the U.A.H.C. succeeding Dr. Nelson Glueck who submitted his resignation following his recent return to Cincinnati from Palestine where he had been serving as director of the American School for Oriental Research in Jerusalem. Dr. Glueck is also professor of Bible and Biblical archeology at the Hebrew Union College.
