The activities of the Union of Jewish Women of South Africa were lauded here by Mayor A. F. Keen, addressing the opening of a five-day national conference of the organization. He particularly stressed the welfare work which the Union conducts among the under privileged non-Europeans.
It was reported at the conference that the Union now has a membership of 9,208 women organized in 52 branches in various parts of South Africa and in seven branches in Rhodesia.
