A group of unique vases, estimated to be 6,000 years old, were found recently in Western Galilee, the Israel Department of Antiquities announced today.
The stone vases were described as “unusual in shape, of excellent workmanship and of a type hitherto unknown in Palestine.” They were discovered together with various flint implements and potsherds attributed definitely to the fourth millennium before the Christian era. It was assumed the vases were also of the same period.
