The first annual award for the “outstanding film of Jewish interest” this year was presented here today by the National Council of Audio-Visual Materials to the United Israel Appeal for its motion picture “Tent City.”
Henry Clay Greenberg, New York Supreme Court Justice and chairman of the New York Chapter of the American Association of Jewish Education which sponsors the Audio-Visual Council, made the presentation to Rudolf G. Sonneborn, U.I.A. national chairman. Written and produced by Baruch Dienar of the Israel Motion Picture Studies. “Tent City” was made in Israel with the immigrants of the Beth Lid Reception Camp.
