The appointment of Harold Trobe as United Hias Service director for Europe and North Africa was announced at a three-day Jewish migration conference which concludes tomorrow.
Mr. Trobe succeeds Louis Horowitz who is rejoining the Joint Distribution Committee’s overseas staff. The migration conference has assembled United Hias resettlement and migration specialists from 20 countries on five continents. Mr. Trobe was JDC director in Rome.
