The United Israel Campaign in Venezuela has been suspended temporarily because of the tension in the country following the assassination of the President, it was reported here today by Gedalia Zakiff, director of the Argentine United Jewish Appeal, following his return from a visit to Venezuela.
Mr. Zakiff stated that the United Israel Campaign goal for this year was $500,000. Last year, he said, the 5,000-odd Jews in the country contributed $360,000 to Israel. He also reported that Jewish community life is very active in Venezuela.
