Dr. Jonah B. Wise has been named chairman of the war Emergency Campaign of the United Jewish Appeal in New York City and the Metropolitan area, it was announced today. Governor Herbert H. Lehman, Judge Julian W. Mack, Rabbi Stephen S. Wise and Henry Ittleson will serve as Honorary Chairman. Other officers named are: William Rosenwald, Associate Chairman; Paul Baerwald, I. Edwin Goldwasser, Monroe Goldwater, George Z. Medalie, Nathan Straus and Paul Felix Warburg, Co-Chairman; Sylvan Gotshal, Executive Chairman. Mrs. Walter A. Hirsch has accepted the chairmanship of the women’s division of the United Jewish Appeal’s War Emergency Campaign.
