The Committee on Refugees and Displaced Persons of the Social and Economic Council of the United Nations Organization will consider a proposal to raise funds for the transfer of refugees to countries of settlement, it was learned here today.
Among other questions to be discussed is a suggestion that the Committee should send fact-finding commissions to the various countries where the displaced persons are congregated as well as to countries where they can be absorbed. However, it is unlikely that such commissions will be sent.
Interested organizations have been invited to send representatives to the first session of the committee, which opens on Monday.
