Major improvements at the port of Aqaba, Jordan’s only outlet to the sea, are nearing completion on projects undertaken by the Jordan Government with the aid of the United Nations Technical Assistance Administration, it was announced here this week-end. The announcement said that what is regarded as of prime importance in the part’s development is the recent successful conclusion of a new regular shipping connection between Aqaba and various British ports.
