Approximately 20,000 Jewish displaced persons are expected to enter the United States under the amended DP Immigration Act before the end of 1951, it was reported here today as delegates began assembling for the two-day annual national conference of the United Service for New Americans, which opens Saturday evening at the Hotel Roosevelt.
Jewish displaced persons and refugees constitute 20 percent of those eligible to enter the United States, the announcement said. Problems concerning the immigration of Jewish DP’s into the United States and their integration in the country will be discussed at the conference, which is expected to be attended by 400 Jewish leaders from every section of the United States.
