Unity was restored in Zionist ranks here, following lengthy negotiations which resulted in the formation of an executive of the Zionist Federation composed of representatives of all Zionist groups, from Herut to Mapam. Leon Gomberoff, a Labor Zionist leader, was elected president of the executive.
The Zionist movement in Chile has been united for the last 36 years. However at the recent congress of Zionist groups here, serious misunderstandings developed between the Labor Zionists and the General Zionists over the composition of the executive. The negotiations which led to a settlement of these misunderstandings lasted several weeks.
