The University of Wisconsin’s department of Hebrew and Semitic studies has an enrollment of 140 students taking courses on the campus, and more than 300 students taking the courses by correspondence, a report of the department disclosed here today.

The courses, both on campus and by correspondence, are conducted by Prof. Manfred Mansoor, who taught Hebrew to adults and university students in London, Dublin and Baltimore, before joining the faculty of the University of Wisconsin. The correspondence courses lead students from the alphabet to advanced Hebrew.
