Invitation to Germany to participate in the 1939 New York World’s Fair was protested today by Samuel Untermyer, as president of the Non-Sectarian Anti-Nazi League, in telegrams to Grover A. Whalen, president of the World’s Fair Corporation, and Mayor LaGuardia.

Mr. Untermyer asked Mr. Whalen to withdraw the invitation to the Reich. In the wire to the mayor, he said, “As vice-president of our league we cannot believe that you sanctioned this invitation.” He declared that any honest presentation by the Nazi Government at the Fair would be a display of terror, murder, barbarism, destruction of art and medievalism.”
