Up to 11 people were hurt in a protest by Ethiopian-Israelis in Jerusalem. The demonstrators were responding Monday to a Channel 2 news report last week that the Health Ministry revived its policy of throwing away blood donated by Ethiopian-Israelis, for fear of disease. Some 200 people gathered in front of the government compound in Jerusalem, while others blocked the entrance to the city.
