The transfer of the school system in Palestine from the jurisdiction of the Zionist organization to that of the Tarbuth will be the principal question to be discussed at the forthcoming meeting in Carlsbad of the representatives of the Tarbut, on August 10.
Among those who are said to be sponsoring the move are the Hebrew poet-laureate H.N. Bialik, and M. Ussishkin, head of the Zionist work in Palestine.
Those favoring the change say that the Tarbuth which is supervising Hebrew institutions in Poland and elsewhere will be more punctual in meeting the financial obligations of the school system, and that its own prestige would be enormously enhanced by the assumption, thru a special Culure Fund, of the Zionist School task.
