The strict separation of Jewish from “Aryan” tenants is proposed by Court Councillor Friedrich, a high official of the Reichsministry for Justice.

The uniform German leasehold contracts, Herr Friedrich demands in an article published in the Deutsches Gemein-und Wirtschaftsrecht, should be altered to include a clause forbidding the landlord to rent any vacant flat to a Jew. The proposed clause would also force the “Aryan” landlord to give notice to all his Jewish tenants. It may be assumed, Herr Friedrich states, that there is still a sufficient number of Jewish landlords left in Germany to meet the requirements of Jewish tenants.
