Uruguayan Senator Leaves for Israel; Brings Greetings from President and Senate

Dr. Peysee Reyes, member of the Uruguayan senate and former president of the Pro-Palestine Committee in this country, left for a visit to Israel at the invitation of the Israel Government. He is a member of the Uruguayan delegation to the United Nations.

Prior to his departure, Dr. Paysee was given a send-off by the Jewish Central Committee here. He told the assembled Jewish leaders that he is taking a message of greetings from the Uruguayan senate and from the President of Uruguay to the Israel parliament and to President Chaim Weizmann respectively. Senator Paysee has been active in combatting anti-Semitism here and was one of the outstanding fighters against Nazi ideology.
