Announcement that he was going to the United States in the fall for the great J. N. F. campaign was made here today by M. M. Ussishkin, head of the Jewish National Fund, at a lengthy press conference. He discussed the problems of the Jewish National Fund and pointed out that he had found the sessions of the Actions Committee and the Jewish Agency full of an understanding of the land problem, which he termed the “outstanding (one) of our Palestine work.”
The land problem, Mr. Ussishkin said, can be solved mainly through the Jewish National Fund and “if the Jewish people realize that we will achieve our aims. If the Jewish National Fund’s annual income grew from several scores of thousands of dollars to $300,000 why cannot the increase be three or four times more,” he concluded, with an appeal to the newspapermen to support the Balfour Memorial and the campaign for $500,000.
