The transfer of the Jewish educational system from the Jewish Agency to the Palestine Jewish National Council was formally consummated when an agreement was signed in Jerusalem.
The agreement stipulates that the Jewish Agency must contribute the sum of £40,000 annually to the Vaad Leumi for the support of the schools. The Palestine Jewish National Council becomes responsible for the entire budget and control of the school system.
At a meeting of Los Angeles Lodge B’nai Brith, No. 487, Harry Graham Balter, assistant United States District Attorney, was unanimously elected president, Felix J. Jonas, vice-president and Adolph Sieroty, treasurer.
