Rejection of the White Paper and the determination not to cooperate with the British government until the White Paper is withdrawn is voiced in the resolution of the Jewish National Council made public here last night. The resolution, adopted at a special meeting last night to consider action on the White Paper, bespeaks the sentiment of the Palestine Jewish community.

By turning down the White Paper and announcing that it will not work with the government so long as its Palestine policy is based on the White Paper the Jewish National Council, the official spokesman of Palestine Jewry, indicates definitely that it will not participate in the proposed legislative council.

The resolution adopted by the Council declares that “Palestine Jewry is dumbfounded at the government’s and the Prime Minister’s confirming in the House of Commons the policy of the White Paper. This breach of obligation to the Jewish people is an insult to our honor and an attempt to frustrate our work in our country. We reaffirm that we have no confidence in the government with this White Paper as the basis of its policy.

“The Palestine Jewish community calls on Jewry throughout the world to continue to fight against the repeated attacks of His Majesty’s government. No abuse of any government will break the eternal bond between the land of Israel and the Jewish people. Our rebuilding and regeneration of the country will go on.”

The text of the resolution as announced is much milder than the draft which was debated at some length. The final text, however, reaffirms more strongly than the original the proposed non-cooperation with a government adhering to the White Paper as the basis of its policy.
