The Hebraization of names by Italian Jews returning from Palestine is strongly defended here today by the Osservatore Romano, the official organ of the Vatican.

The desire to Hebraize their names is easily understandable, being motivated by the fact that the Jews are anxious to forget the sufferings which they have undergone in the lands of the Diaspora, the organ of the Vatican states.

Il Lavoro, one of the leading Italian dailies in Genoa, today inaugurated a feature, under the headline “Teutonia,” which is devoted exclusively to criticism of the race theories preached by the German Nazis and the “Aryan” legislation of Germany.
