The establishment of a chair of Hebrew at Contral University here was announced today. Dr. David A. Gross of New York will fill the chair. The announcement said that among the students who have registered for Hebrew courses are twenty non-Jews.
Dr.Gross was formerly an instructor of Jewish history in the Herzliah Teachers Institute in New York. He is a graduate of Dropsie College in Philadelphia, Prior to his appointment to the University, he was the director of the Hebrew School in Caracas.
