Vice President-elect Hubert H. Humphrey delivered his first address since his election at a dinner of the American Jewish Committee here tonight. He spoke on the problems of American education and predicted that the accomplishments in the field of education legislation in the forthcoming 89th Congress “will surpass even the excellent record compiled in the 88th.”
Arnold M. Grant, an attorney, was presented with the Human Relations Award of the American Jewish Committee by former Federal Judge Simon Rifkind. Other speakers were Newton H. Minow, former chairman of the Federal Communications Commission and Sen. Jacob K. Javits. Sen. Pierre Salinger of California was toastmaster.
