Anti-Semitism was today decried as “an act of lunacy” in a speech by Prof. von Hildebrand, a Catholic, at a meeting here of Jewish and Christian monarchists.
“As a faithful Catholic,” Prof. von Hildebrand declared, “I consider every manifestation of anti-Semitism as a crime and an act of lunacy absolutely opposed to true Christianity.”
The meeting concluded with a pledge of fealty to the House of Hapsburg and continued work for restoration of the monarchy. A message incorporating the pledge was wired to Archduke Otto, pretender to the Austrian throne.
