The Jewish soccer team, Hakoah, which lost the championship it formerly held, has dissolved as a professional team, renouncing its membership in the Austrian Football League.
The club will continue as an amateur organization. Several proposals for re-engaging the former Hakoah stars who joined American teams, as well as a proposal that the Hakoah stars as a join other local Austrian teams, failed as none of the local teams was in a position to compete with American offers.
