The Board of the Jewish Community has adopted a strongly-worded resolution at its plenary meeting held here to-day, warning the Government and Parliament against the intention to enact a law legalising the student rights of the Germanic race-antisemitic students’ organisation, pointing out that this would be in flagrant violation of the principle of equal rights of Jewish citizens, guaranteed in the Constitution of the country.
The Presidium of the Vienna Jewish Community has to-day submitted a protest to the Chancellor, the Vice-Chancellor, and the Minister of Education, complaining in particular against the projected law on the ground that it would vest authority in the very organisation which is always engaged in terrorising the Jewish section of the population.
The Jewish students at Vienna University stayed away to-day, to avoid further indignities at the hands of the Nazi students, who continue to be the policing body in the University.
