A delegation of the Vienna Jewish Community today visited leading members of the Austrian Parliament and presented them with a protest against the pro-Nazi laws passed recently in Parliament with their votes.
The delegation declared that a great number of former members of the Jewish Community will be excluded from benefits under the new regulations. It demanded proper settlement for heirless Jewish property and for Jewish belongings confiscated under the Nazi regime.
The Austrian press continues its bitterly critical tone against the United States in connection with the warning sent by the U.S. Government to Austria expressing disapproval of the pro-Nazi laws. Several prominent provincial newspapers are outspokenly anti-Semitic in their comments. Only a handful of newspapers failed to criticize the American position.
