The decision of the Syrian authorities to permit Jewish immigration into Syria is considered in the London Times today a very important step on the part of the French government to attract Jewish capital into Syria.
The Times reports from Beirut that no matter how much capital the Jews bring into Syria they will nevertheless not be permitted to buy land along the Palestinian frontier. This measure, the Times says, is considered necessary in order to avoid possible Jewish claims for modifying the Syrian frontier in favor of Palestine.
