Vivo Publishing Bibliography of Works Dealing with Nazi Atrocities

Publication of a series of books containing a bibliography of works dealing with the Nazi atrocities against Jews, from 1933 to 1945, and including also materials dealing with the background and aftermath of these atrocities, was announced here Jointly today by the Yivo Institute for Jewish Research and the Yad Vashem Remembrance Authority of Jerusalem. The latter is the official documentary center for materials dealing with the Nazi holocaust.

The first volume of the series, “Guide to Jewish History Under Nazi Impact,” is now out, written by Jacob Robinson and Philip Friedman. The second, edited by Mr. Friedman, is “Bibliography of Hebrew Books on the Catastrophe and Heroism,” Just published in Jerusalem.

Other works in the series will be: “Bibliography of Yiddish Books on the Catastrophe and Heroism,” edited by Mr. Friedman; “The Hungarian Jewish Catastrophe,” edited by Randolph L. Braham; and “A Bibliography of Books, Pamphlets, and Newspapers of the Sheerit ha-Pleta,” by Joseph Gar.

In preparation also is a two-volume “Bibliography of Articles in Hebrew Periodicals,” by Baruch Ofir; and volumes by Joseph Gar, John Fried, Rose Klepfisz and Henry Sachs, YIVO undertook the project in 1954 after concluding an agreement in Jerusalem with Yad Vashem.
