An anonymous letter violently abusing the outgoing War Secretary, Leslie Hore-Belisha and Jem, was being investigated today by officials of the department. The letter was typed on a sheet of official War Office stationery.
Although the letter was apparently the work of a fanatical anti-Semite who signs himself “loyal Englishman,” the War Office has taken a serious view of the matter. Officials want to know whether the writer is an employee of the War Office and, If not, how he secured a piece of War Office stationery.
