The Warsaw Jewish State Theater today presented the premiere performance of the play, “Jacob and Esau,” by Dr. Sami Gronemann, the German-born Jewish author who died in Israel.
The performance, which was sold out despite the excessive heat, was the first by an Israeli author performed in Communist Poland. Dr. Gronemann, a former Zionist leader in Germany, had served for many years as president of the court of the World Zionist Congress. He was a prominent lawyer in Berlin in the pre-Nazi years.
