Jewish newspapers commented bitterly today over last night’s debate in Parliament during which Government leaders, including Foreign Minister Josef Beck, demanded wholesale emigration of Jews.
Particularly caustic comment greeted the statement by Vice-Marshal Miedzinsky, leader of the Government party, that there was room in Poland for only 150,000 Jews and that the remaining three millions must emigrate.
To Col. Beck, quoted as stating “There is no use in fooling, the Jews must emigrate,” newspapers put the question:
“Where shall we emigrate, when doors everywhere are closed to us?”
