The National Democratic manifestations at the Warsaw University are directed not only against the Jews, but against the Government, the Minister of the Interior, M. Pieracki, states in a new order which he has issued to the police, instructing them to deal more drastically with the rioters.
180 National Democratic students are now under arrest, for participation in the disturbances, including their leader, M. Kurciusz, the President of the Students’ Federation. A demand for their release made by the leaders of the National Democratic Party has been rejected.
The “Gazeta Warszawska”, the chief organ of the National Democratic Party, has been confiscated for publishing inflammatory reports concerning the occurrences at the University.
While the Prime Minister, Colonel Prystor, was getting out of his motor-car outside the Prime Minister’s office, a group of National Democratic students who had collected there, demonstrated against him, shouting “Down with the Government”. They were immediately dispersed by the police, and a number of them were arrested.
There were several attempts at fresh outbreaks made by National Democratic students during the course of the day, but each time the demonstrators were dispersed by the police before they got properly together, and many of the demonstrators were arrested.
Another attempt was made by National Lemocratic students to-day to raid the Jewish Student Home, but this, too, was beaten back by the police, and the demonstrators went off with anti-Government cries.
